Every bounce of the droplet leaves a mark in the form of ripples, and these ripples chaotically but deterministically influence the droplet’s future bounces and lead to quantum-like statistical outcomes. The more path memory a given fluid exhibits — that is, the less its ripples dissipate — the crisper and more quantum-like the statistics become.
Quanta Magazine, Nathalie Wolver, 'Fluid Tests Hint at Quantum Reality'
'… Cell walls of biological tissue contain countless proteins and fat molecules which are electrical dipoles. When a cell is at rest, these dipoles are out of phase and arrange themselves in a haphazard way. But when they are stimulated they begin to oscillate or jiggle intensely and broadcast a tiny microwave signal. Frolich found that when the energy flowing through the cell reaches a certain critical level, all the cell wall molecular dipoles line up and come into phase. They oscillate in unison as though they are suddenly coordinated. This emergent quantum field is a Bose-Einstein condensate and has holistic properties common to any quantum field. 'Oil giant ExxonMobil is under criminal investigation over claims it lied to the public and investors about the risks of climate change… for decades Exxon concealed its own findings that fossil fuels cause global warming, alter the climate and melt the Arctic ice. Exxon scientists knew about climate change as early as 1977. But beginning in the 1980s, the company openly embraced climate denial and spent millions of dollars funding outside groups that sought to undermine climate science.' Democracy Now | 6 Nov 2015 Link

DLD12 ... only passing allusions are made to, say, the problems of growing economic inequalities and environmental damage... of the few exceptions to the rule is a chilling statement by artist Daniel Keller of AIDS-3D: "Your animated GIFs run on burnt coal and your computers—they're made by slaves."
A subject never touched on, however, is that of the long-range effects of Web 2.0's current business models, in which millions of users unintentionally provide vast amounts of information to corporations without being compensated. As pioneering computer scientist Jaron Lanier puts it in his 2013 book Who Owns the Future?, "Ordinary people ‘share,' while elite network presences generate unprecedented fortunes." According to Lanier, the principles of the current information economy enrich a few "while moving the value created by the many off the books," a shift that will ultimately have a catastrophic effect on economic growth.
'Ah, arrogance and stupidity all in the same package, how efficient of you.'
sixpence none the richer
Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress.
[Chorus:]
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map
[Chorus (repeat)]

MY HEART'S IN OVERDRIVE AND YOU'RE BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL...
… Emergent eventalization — correlative both to Badiou’s usage and to a Foucauldian polyhedral causality — can be seen in the schooling of fish: no single fish determines a school’s path, but thousands of tiny, instantaneous behavioral feedback loops between thousands of fish result in what appears to be an intricately choreographed swarm. Such a swarm formation, akin to Badiou’s description of the event as a “one-multiple,” a macroentity made up of multiple smaller entities, arises from a multiplicity of causal inputs that coalesce in a nonlinear fashion: one moment the fish are distributed without apparent order, the next moment they swarm in response to their internal conditions, inputs from environmental pressures, and the actions of their immediate neighbors. Such a catalytic event reflects more than a simple model of linear cause and effect, reflecting instead what Foucault termed “polyhedral” or multidimensional systemic inputs.

'In the deep waters I see hundreds of them beneath my fins,
disappearing into the twilight sea.'
where is my mind
With your feet on the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind? [3x]
Way out in the water
See it swimmin'
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin' to talk to me, to me, to me.
Where is my mind? [3x]
Way out in the water
See it swimmin'
Oh
With your feet on the air and your head on the ground
Oh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Oh

…"When the bacteria consume phytoplankton faster, more CO2 is given off in the shallow depths, where it can return to the surface of the ocean and the atmosphere more quickly."… The bacteria start devouring the falling particles like they are at an all-you-can-eat buffet, and significantly reduce the amount of sinking detritus while releasing CO2… "The depth of organic carbon sinking is important, as about a quarter of CO2 from burning fossil fuels ends up in the deep ocean because of these mechanisms."
Ocean bacteria get 'pumped up': Team discovers new factors impacting fate of sinking carbon
